Publishing such a large-scale collection of linguistic works in just a few months is rare in the history of academic publishing in China. Since its publication, many individuals and institutions have rushed to order. Graduate and undergraduate students regard the Collection as an invaluable teacher and companion, while teachers of all ages see it as a source for updating their knowledge. Practical evidence shows that the Collection launched by FLTRP has been widely praised by the domestic linguistics and foreign language teaching communities. It will become a treasure trove for advancing linguistic teaching, research, foreign language teaching, and applied linguistics in China. Building on the success of the first 54 titles, FLTRP is now launching the second installment of the Collection, featuring 58 new titles. The second installment of the Collection has five key features:
1. Comprising 58 original English-language works, it covers a broader range of disciplines, expanding from 26 to 33, including newly added fields such as the history of linguistics, philosophy of language, cognitive linguistics, anthropological linguistics, the origins of language, and chemical grammar theory, better meeting the diverse needs of readers;
2. It includes influential works by renowned contemporary linguistics masters such as Saussure, Sapir, Bloomfield, Halliday, Chomsky, Austin, Grice, and Leech, ensuring higher authority;
3. It incorporates classic linguistic works published by world-renowned publishers such as Oxford University Press and Harvard University Press;
4. It continues to include expert introductions, with a stronger team of experts compared to the first installment;
5. It features forewords by the world-renowned linguist Professor Noam Chomsky and the distinguished Chinese linguist Professor Jia Xiancan.
This Collection is a large-scale, open-series, which will play a positive role in advancing linguistic teaching and research, as well as foreign language teaching and applied linguistics in China. In the future, FLTRP will continue to introduce new works, striving to present the latest and most influential linguistic and applied linguistic works to readers.
