On this basis, the author, based on the grand goals and strategic arrangements for spiritual civilization construction and cultural construction proposed in the report of the 16th National Congress of the Communist Party of China, points out that the spiritual civilization construction in the comprehensive construction of a moderately prosperous society is a systematic project. How to understand and grasp this systematic project? The author proposes that attention should be paid to understanding and grasping its wholeness, interconnectedness, gradualness, stage-by-stage nature, long-term nature, and diversity in unity. For example, regarding gradualness, the author points out that the spiritual civilization construction in the comprehensive construction of a moderately prosperous society cannot be achieved overnight. It is not possible to complete this systematic project in a short period of time, nor is it possible to imagine building a highly developed spiritual civilization without hard and solid work. It should be recognized that spiritual civilization construction has its own laws. Attempting to leap over or even violate these laws and artificially promote spiritual civilization construction prematurely, or even resort to falsification, can only lead to counterproductive results and harm the construction of spiritual civilization. This is unacceptable. In the construction of spiritual civilization, it is necessary to firmly oppose formalism and bureaucracy. It is necessary to adhere to the Party's ideological line, emancipate the mind, seek truth from facts, and keep pace with the times, working solidly step by step to make the construction of spiritual civilization advance by leaps and bounds.
