Features: Each chapter in this book includes three parts: basic knowledge, questions and answers, and exercises with answers. It can serve as both a review guide for computer proficiency exams and a teaching material for classroom instruction in relevant schools. This book is newly compiled based on the requirements for the "Level 1 (Windows Environment)" exam outlined in the latest National Computer Proficiency Examination Syllabus issued in September 2001. The exam at this level has removed the content on "FoxPro for Windows" and added the functionality and usage of spreadsheet software and electronic presentation software. Considering the actual development of computer technology, the explanation of "operating system functionality and usage" is based on Windows 98, while some content on MS-DOS is covered in "Using MS-DOS in a Windows Environment." Therefore, the main content of this book includes the following aspects:
Chapter 1: Basic knowledge of using microcomputers (including common sense about computer virus prevention, multimedia concepts, and multimedia computer basics), the composition of microcomputer systems and the functions of each component.
Chapter 2: Basic functions and roles of the operating system, the use of Chinese (keyboard) input methods, and basic operations and applications of Windows.
Chapter 3: Basic knowledge of word processing, and basic operations and applications of Word.
Chapter 4: Basic knowledge of spreadsheet software, and basic operations and applications of Excel.
Chapter 5: Basic knowledge of presentation software, and basic operations and applications of PowerPoint.
Chapter 6: Basic concepts of computer networks and preliminary knowledge of the Internet (Internet), as well as simple applications of the Internet (Internet).
Appendix: The latest adjusted "Level 1 (Windows Environment)" exam syllabus and sample paper.
