Features: The times are advancing, and society is developing. Our teaching and research in ethics must keep pace with the times, reflect the progress of social life and social relationships, and contribute to the construction of socialist spiritual civilization. We must base ourselves on reality and innovate our theoretical perspectives and academic thoughts. In this spirit, we have revised the content of the book "A Concise Course in Ethics" and compiled a new textbook, namely "A New Course in Ethics." Compared to "A Concise Course in Ethics," "A New Course in Ethics" has first increased in length and expanded its information content. We adopt historical materialism as the methodological principle and fully utilize knowledge from psychology, social psychology, law, anthropology, economics, physiology, and philosophy to study ethical and moral issues. This approach allows for more thorough and precise research and interpretation of the issues. The book also includes a new introductory chapter that comprehensively explains the three types of ethics in the world today and their relationships, enabling readers not only to understand what normative ethics is but also to further explore descriptive ethics and meta-ethics, as well as why normative ethics has infinite vitality.
