Comic book works are far more than just "little books" in the ordinary sense; they are a collective "cultural memory" of an entire generation, just as they remain for children today. Comic books are highly readable and possess high aesthetic value, with a wide range of themes and diverse forms. They not only depict all things imaginable from ancient and modern China and the world but also reflect the characteristics of each era. Their golden age was during the decades after the founding of New China. During this period, Shanghai People's Fine Arts Publishing House closely linked the fates of painters, scriptwriters, and publications, playing a pivotal role in the flourishing tide of comic book publishing. Masterpieces, renowned artists, and prestigious publishing houses emerged one after another, making comic books a signature product of Shanghai People's Fine Arts Publishing House. Reprinted old editions of comic books continue to be highly sought after, especially those with traditional themes. Comic book works are far more than just "little books." What people appreciate from comic books is not only the exquisite illustrations but also the meaning and wisdom embedded in the stories, which is particularly important for young readers. The current volume, The Blind Fish, is a wonderful educational story.
