Features: The Tang Dynasty was a highly significant period in the history of Chinese calligraphy. On one hand, the dignified and solemn regular script demonstrated strict rules and discipline; on the other hand, the unrestrained and free-spirited cursive script exhibited romantic and magical charm. In terms of running script, it also achieved remarkable progress. Yan Zhenqing's draft running script was dynamic and expressive, with an eerie and spirited flow, like molten gold pouring out, flowing naturally everywhere. The essence of seal script and clerical script was evident in his work, as if the heavens themselves were guiding his brushwork. His running script stood out uniquely among Tang Dynasty works. Another calligrapher with great innovative spirit was Li Yong. He incorporated running script into stone inscriptions and adopted a tilted, dynamic stance, truly pioneering a new style. His calligraphy had such a profound influence on later generations that it could almost be ranked alongside Yan and Chu in terms of significance.
