Publish Date: 2004-04-01
Features: In early 1915, Ouspensky delivered a public lecture in St. Petersburg titled "The Search for Miracles and the Question of Death," drawing on his travels in India. Each time, the audience exceeded a thousand people, and many later visited him or wrote to him. After Easter, he returned to Moscow and gave similar lectures there. Through some listeners, Ouspensky met G.I. Gurdjieff, which allowed him to finally encounter the kind of esoteric school he had been seeking. Ouspensky studied with Gurdjieff for three years and recorded all of Gurdjieff's teachings. These notes were titled "The Search for Miracles, Fragments of the Teaching of an Unknown," and were published in 1949, nine years after Ouspensky's death.
