Refrigerators, air conditioners, washing machines, electric fans, microwave ovens, rice cookers, and so on have become essential items in our lives. The quality of household appliance products has also become a topic of concern and frequent discussion among us. Well-known brands have deeply rooted in people's minds, but poor-quality products often appear in the market. Non-compliant household appliance products severely affect people's daily lives and, in some cases, even endanger their lives and property safety. Therefore, actively promoting the publicity and implementation of technical standards for household appliances, advancing standardized production in the household appliance industry, and establishing a comprehensive system for production, sales, use, and maintenance based on technical standards are crucial for improving the quality of household appliance products, promoting the development of the household appliance industry, and protecting consumer interests.
China is a major producer and exporter of household appliances. With the integration of the world economy, especially after China's accession to the WTO, the household appliance industry has faced significant challenges. Compared to industrialized countries abroad, China's household appliance industry started later, and its technical level still needs improvement. In the face of fierce market competition, the most urgent task is to continuously improve product quality, create well-known brands, and enhance market competitiveness.
Currently, China's standardization work actively promotes the policy of "Adopting International Standards and Advanced Foreign Standards." The standard system of the household appliance industry has been aligned with international standards, and the level of national standards is comparable to that of international standards. Actively implementing national standards is the fundamental technical guarantee for improving product quality and enhancing international market competitiveness. With the implementation of mandatory product certification and voluntary certification systems in China, national standards have become the basis for certification work and are highly valued by enterprises. Enterprises that do not seriously implement standards or fail to pass certification will be at a significant disadvantage in market competition.
To help production, distribution, and maintenance enterprises better learn and implement technical standards for household appliances, as well as for society to understand household appliance standards, China Standard Press has organized and compiled the Compendium of Technical Standards for Household and Similar Use Appliances to meet the needs of all parties.
The Compendium of Technical Standards for Household and Similar Use Appliances is organized by product categories, with each volume including the most commonly used and latest national and industry standards for various products. The general volume includes basic and general standards that all household appliance enterprises must use. It is believed that this compendium will help enterprises improve their product market competitiveness and market access.
