Features: Each volume of this teaching reference adopts an upper and lower division structure. The chapters in the upper division correspond to the chapter titles in the accompanying teaching materials, generally including two main components:
1. "Selected Materials", which collects representative primary sources from each historical period;
2. "Academic Research Review", which primarily introduces the current state of research on various historical periods in the field of history, different academic discussions, and various historiographical perspectives, as well as significant or representative research findings with academic value. These contents can be used for classroom teaching, student self-study, discussions, and preliminary academic research, better achieving the overall teaching reform concept of the "two spaces."
The lower division consists of selected academic papers for reading, aiming to provide students with exemplary academic works. The selection criteria are:
1. Content-wise, they must have high academic value, exert considerable influence within a certain academic field, and represent a particular viewpoint or school of thought;
2. Format-wise, they must adhere to relatively standardized academic conventions, making them suitable for students to practice academic writing in their early stages and for imitation-based exercises. This section is primarily intended for students to refer to outside of class.
