Features: An era that can bring life or death is a great era. Great eras always produce giants. Lu Xun was a giant. He was not a king or a general; he did not need to wield power. As a rebellious and disloyal son of the old world, he attracted a large group of young slaves solely with his personality and thoughts. He buried his love for the nation and humanity so deeply that his gaze seemed to reveal nothing but the fiery anger of reality. The zombie politics of thousands of years, "Eastern civilization," autocracy, violence, hypocrisy, conservatism, and ignorance were all his targets. He taught the slaves how to resist, how to "bore through the net," and how to engage in tenacious battles. Although he valued the preservation of strength, he did not hesitate to sacrifice himself and fought alone when necessary. Throughout his life, he had shouted and wandered, and even in his later years, when fighting on his side, he bore an unbearable loneliness, but he never shamed himself by surrendering or stopping. No one in China's intellectual and cultural circles has won as many "private enemies" as he did, nor has anyone suffered as many sharp attacks as he did. Therefore, no one has achieved more glorious victories. With nothing but a "priceless" pen, he built extraordinary merits in the invisible yet incredibly perilous battlefield. After his death, of course, there would be large and small memorials, sculptures, bronze statues, and biographies. But tragically: when he was given a physical form again, this warrior who had always stood tall among humans was not once but repeatedly adorned intentionally or unintentionally, becoming Zeus on Mount Olympus. Ordinary greatness is the true greatness. Lu Xun was "the son of man," and he possessed everything that humans had. Because he had heard the foolish cheers and the tragic cries, witnessed the flowing blood and the rising earth fire, and deeply tasted all the sufferings of humanity, the ancient and profound hieroglyphs in his works became so simple, fresh, and full of vitality. For such a person who had devoted his life to fighting with words, his image had long been fully expressed by the very words themselves. No memorial in the world can add to or diminish anything for him; it is merely a sense of remembrance from later generations. If what it inspires is not the thirst for truth, not the courage to pursue life, and not the passion to transform reality, but rather religious-like worship, then it is better to say: we need nothing! The greatness of historical figures lies precisely in the fact that we can deeply realize our own existence through them; in the choice of our way of existence, we are fundamentally unwilling to reject the participation of his soul. Lu Xun was such a person. He did not easily promise the golden world to humanity but, with a life that burned like fire, became the spiritual light for countless seekers. True giants live in the depth of time. One should believe that history will eventually preserve what is truly meaningful. This book introduces the extraordinary life and ideological transformation of Lu Xun. It includes: his difficult childhood, his initial battle cries, the Normal School Women's Turmoil, the struggles under the national flag, and resistance to death, among others.
