Features: The trend of the world is mighty and unstoppable. The global landscape is colorful and diverse. The historical train has brought humanity into the 21st century, with peace and development remaining the themes of the era. However, the world is far from peaceful, with international situations complex, ever-changing, and full of ups and downs. China is advancing forward with giant steps, striving to seize the strategic opportunity period to realize the grand blueprint for the rejuvenation of the Chinese nation. To achieve this goal, it is essential to strengthen research, understand the world, recognize the current situation, grasp the trajectory of international developments, and seek to gain the initiative. During the great Anti-Japanese War of the Chinese nation, the primary foreign policy goal of the Nationalist government was to secure international aid, particularly from the United States (from seeking moral support from the United States to securing comprehensive financial, military, and even political aid from the United States). This demonstrates the increasing prominence of U.S. aid diplomacy in the foreign policy of the Nationalist government. Song Ziyuan's unique family background, his experience in the United States, and his prominent status in the Central Committee of the Kuomintang and the Nationalist government made him inseparably linked to U.S. aid diplomacy. This book places Song Ziyuan within the broader context of Sino-U.S. relations and comprehensively examines his major diplomatic efforts from 1931 to 1945 in securing U.S. aid for the Anti-Japanese War. It both realistically acknowledges Song Ziyuan's contributions to U.S. aid diplomacy during the war and highlights the nationalist characteristics of his U.S. aid diplomacy thought, while objectively exposing his personal limitations in upholding the rule of the Chiang Kai-shek regime and pursuing personal gains. Through Song Ziyuan's U.S. aid diplomacy thought and practice, this book examines the relationship between Song Ziyuan's American experience and Chinese politics, thereby exploring the breadth and depth of the Nationalist government's relationship with the United States, providing a new perspective for the study of Sino-U.S. relations.
