How is dwarfism treated?

Patient's question:

Daughter is currently 10 years and 11 months old, with a height of 1.35 meters and a weight of 37 kilograms. Her breasts have just begun to develop. The bone age X-ray shows a bone age of 11 years and +. I am 1.58 meters tall, my spouse is 1.71 meters tall, my grandmother is 1.45 meters tall, and my grandfather is 1.80 meters tall.

Doctor's answer:

Hello! Thank you for your trust!
We only diagnose dwarfism and actively recommend treatment when a girl's predicted height is below 150 cm. If the difference exceeds 150 cm slightly, and the family has strong demands, and the bone age is not too advanced, treatment can also be considered.
Combined use certainly has the benefits of combined use, but the dosage of gonadotropin-releasing hormone analogs (GnRHa, such as Decapeptyl, Suprefact, etc.) needs to be carefully adjusted. If used inappropriately, the possibility of losing lifelong height cannot be ruled out.
Since the main reason for your child's unsatisfactory predicted height is the current short stature, rather than precocious puberty. If your demands for the final height are not too high (in fact, we generally do not meet excessively high demands), using growth hormone alone for 1~2 years can completely potentially increase the final height to around 160 cm.
Moreover, your child's developmental age is not considered early, and I personally do not think it is necessary to suppress puberty.
