Features: This book summarizes the evolution and impact of international trade theories through the analysis of the development of international trade, combined with the empirical analysis of China's manufacturing international competitiveness. It also analyzes the competitiveness level of China's manufacturing industry based on China's foreign trade practices, ultimately proposing a leading theory to support the development of China's foreign trade. This book provides a theoretical and empirical foundation for addressing some of the deep-seated issues in China's foreign trade development. By analyzing the connections and differences between the theories of comparative advantage and competitive advantage, it draws inspiration from the national competitive advantage theory of the renowned American economist Michael Porter while avoiding a mechanical application of Porter's theory. Instead, it integrates the specific national conditions and foreign trade development practices of China, organically combining the theory of comparative advantage with the theory of competitive advantage. It proposes that China should adhere to the theory of comparative advantage while drawing on the theory of competitive advantage to accelerate the enhancement of its industrial competitive advantage, thereby achieving a comprehensive improvement in the competitiveness of its foreign trade exports. This inspires us to explore a trade theory framework system suitable for China's national conditions. Through extensive empirical analysis of trade structure and industrial structure, the book points out that some products currently exported by China based on comparative advantage may shift to comparative disadvantage. This conclusion holds significant reference value for adjusting China's export product structure.
