Features: Since the publication of "1000 Questions for Orthopedic Attending Physicians," it has been deeply loved by readers and in high demand, requiring repeated printing that still cannot meet the need. As we prepare for the second edition, considering the increasingly shorter cycle of scientific and technological updates in the world today, along with the continuous development of theories and techniques in orthopedics, the authors have made corrections and revisions to the original book while also adding new content. This includes updates on advances in orthopedic imaging examinations, diagnosis and treatment of spinal cord injuries, diagnosis and treatment of femoral head necrosis, knee arthroscopy, treatment of scoliosis, treatment of congenital hip dislocation, diagnosis and treatment of lumbar instability, diagnosis and treatment of spondylolisthesis, modern views on osteosarcoma treatment, some issues on amputation, and advancements in artificial joint technology. The authors have incorporated fresh experiences from both domestic and international fields to meet the needs of readers seeking knowledge and progress. The number of questions has increased from 878 in the original book to 1011, and to better reflect the actual situation, the title has been changed to "100 Questions for Orthopedic Attending Physicians."
Orthopedics is an ancient yet highly specialized discipline that intersects with many other fields, covering a broad area. In the past two decades, orthopedics has undergone rapid development, not only changing the composition of diseases but also incorporating many new specialties into the field. Medical students, due to limited course time, can only grasp some basic concepts, while newly graduated physicians often find orthopedics too broad, with numerous diseases that are difficult to master at first. It is widely believed that "learning with questions" is an effective method for clinical physicians to acquire professional knowledge, offering targeted, efficient, accurate, and easy-to-grasp results.
The China Medical University Press initiated the publication of the "Modern Attending Physicians Improvement Series" and requested the authors to write in a question-and-answer format, precisely to meet this need. We were invited to participate in writing this book and felt the task was challenging and our responsibility great, with only one goal: to do our best for improvement. During the writing process, we referred to the latest developments both domestically and internationally, combining them with our clinical experience. We addressed the difficulties, doubts, hot topics, and points of debate in clinical work, adhering to the principle of maintaining systematicity without being overly comprehensive, including both fundamental concepts and the latest advancements, as well as both diagnostic key points and treatment measures. The book is divided into 22 chapters, with a total of 878 questions. For content already thoroughly covered in general orthopedic books, we provided concise summaries, while focusing more on less-covered or frequently encountered clinical issues.
