The government's role in employment work

Features: Employment is the cornerstone of people's livelihood. In recent years, the Party Central Committee and the State Council have attached great importance to the issue of employment and re-employment, making a series of major decisions that have played a safeguarding role in promoting the reform of state-owned enterprises, economic development, and social stability. However, the current employment situation in China remains quite severe. The convergence of newly added labor forces in urban areas, re-employment of laid-off and unemployed workers, and the transfer of surplus rural labor forces has created immense pressure on employment work. This issue will persist for a long period in the future. Promoting employment is a long-term and arduous task. Employment is an eternal theme in government work, and how to accurately define the role of the government in employment work still requires long-term attention and continuous exploration from relevant theoretical researchers and government department workers. To this end, the Office of the National Committee on Social and Legal Affairs of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference has compiled a book based on the research findings of the National Committee on Social and Legal Affairs of the CPPCC and some local committees, as well as papers by some CPPCC members and experts and scholars. It is hoped that this book will provide a reference for comrades concerned with the issue of employment.
