Features: The annual "National Chinese Painting Exhibition" underwent a special historical event test during the submission period, the "SARS" epidemic. Through the joint efforts of the Chinese Artists Association and the Hefei Municipal People's Government of Anhui Province, and with the concerted cooperation of artists across the country, the exhibition was finally held as scheduled in the culturally and historically rich Anhui. To record this exhibition, we have compiled and collected the exhibited works into this catalog for the readers. In 2003, it was a year of vigorous development for the Chinese art industry. With the "China Beijing International Art Biennial" held in Beijing, the Chinese art world showed a thriving scene. A series of national large-scale exhibition activities not only enriched the current art market but also created more opportunities for artists across the country, especially young and middle-aged artists, to stand out. Initiated and organized by the Chinese Artists Association, the "National Chinese Painting Exhibition" has been held four times since its inception in 2000 and has now developed into a relatively influential exhibition brand in national art exhibitions. Practice has proven that it is of great significance for discovering and selecting new talents, comprehensively and objectively reflecting the creative capabilities of Chinese painters across the country, especially contemporary outstanding young and middle-aged Chinese ink painters, showcasing the recent level of Chinese painting art, leveraging social forces, and promoting the development of the art industry in a specific region. For such an exhibition, we will continue to hold it in a long-term and institutionalized manner in the future. The National Chinese Painting Exhibition is like a grand stage where artists from across the country gather in Anhui to meet and share art, bringing beauty to the people of Anhui. It also brings new artistic vitality to the region, a birthplace of writing instruments and painting materials with a long history of cultural heritage and profound ties to Chinese painting. May the brief exhibition leave people with lasting memories and eternal inspiration.
