Features: Modern Illustrated Compendium of Clinical Chinese Herbal Medicine includes 632 commonly used traditional Chinese medicinal herbs (excluding supplementary herbs), along with approximately 1,360 color photographs of their original plants (or animals) and prepared herbs. Theed herbs include those listed in the Pharmacopoeia of the People's Republic of China (Part I), as well as widely used medicinal herbs and prepared herbs in traditional Chinese medicine practice across various regions that are not covered by the pharmacopoeia. To meet the needs of clinical medication in traditional Chinese medicine, each herb is categorized by its primary therapeutic effects and arranged accordingly. The book lists the main synonyms, characteristics of the original plant (or animal), origin and habitat, features of the prepared herb (or medicinal material), properties, meridian tropism, therapeutic effects, dosage and administration, pharmacological actions, and compatibility applications. Additionally, to cater to the reference needs of readers from different professional backgrounds and levels, the book includes an explanation of commonly used terms for therapeutic effects, botanical terminology, a stroke-order index of Chinese herbal names, an English name index, a Japanese name index, and a Latin name index for plants and animals. The color ecological photographs of plants and animals in the book, with the exception of a very small number sourced from the Color Atlas of Chinese Medicinal Materials in the Pharmacopoeia of the People's Republic of China, were all taken by the main author over more than 20 years of fieldwork across 30 provinces and cities in China. This is truly a result of great effort.
