Features: "Health Psychology" is a relatively new discipline that was previously known as "Mental Hygiene." It refers to the application of psychological knowledge through educational processes to maintain and enhance individual mental health, enabling everyone to enjoy a happy and fulfilling life. Its fundamental concept is that a healthy mind leads to a healthy body, and mental health is self-determining. The influence of the mind on the body is relatively easier to achieve physical and mental well-being. As humanity embraces the 21st century, the world is witnessing significant changes: political democratization, economic liberalization, internationalization of education and culture, social modernization, and informatization of technology, among others. The rapid progress and transformations in various aspects inevitably lead to imbalances. Modern life is characterized by busyness, tension, intense mental pressure, psychological restlessness, conflicting values, diverse behavioral patterns, and blurred moral awareness, all of which can easily result in poor adaptation. This applies not only to individuals but also to increasing family, school, and social problems, severely impacting public mental health.
The book is organized into four main parts: "Theoretical Foundations," "Healthy Living," "Living Environment," and "Maladaptive Behaviors." Each part consists of four chapters discussing relevant specialized knowledge and issues. A "Content Outline" is provided before each chapter, followed by a "Summary" and "Discussion Questions" after each chapter, serving as references for readers before or after reading. These can also be used as teaching and research materials for "Core Courses" and "Related Courses."
The book is divided into four parts, specifically elaborating on the theoretical and foundational knowledge of health psychology, the health knowledge of health psychology, and the role of health psychology in adapting to and adjusting to the living environment.
