Features: According to the "College English Teaching Syllabus" and the "College English Test Band 4 Syllabus" issued by the Ministry of Education, the Higher Education Department of Beijing Municipal Education Commission and the Beijing College English Teaching and Research Association organized experienced teachers from some universities in Beijing to write annual College English Test Band 4 adaptive tests starting from 1991, providing them for Band 4 candidates to practice before the exam, in order to identify problems, summarize and generalize, take measures, and continuously improve. Due to the conscientious and responsible work of the test-setters, their pursuit of excellence and rigorous quality control, the scientificity, practicality, and targeting of the tests reached a high level, earning praise from English teachers and Band 4 candidates. This book collects ten Band 4 mock tests (1991–2000). The features of this book are: (1) The test types and difficulty levels are basically synchronized with the exposed tests of the Ministry of Education's testing center, making it highly comparable. (2) The solutions to the related tests are detailed, and these annotations systematically summarize and generalize the language phenomena involved, achieving the purpose of learning from one example to understand others and making connections. (3) All tests include listening scripts and reference answers (note: this book is accompanied by audio cassettes), making it convenient to check against scoring standards. In summary, the book's emphasis on listening training is a prominent feature. The chief editors of this book are Professor Zhu Taiqi and Professor Xu Guangzhong. Some of the audio materials and tests in this book were reviewed and proofread by Professor Cheng Musheng of Tsinghua University. Teacher Xue Shulan (Tsinghua University) was responsible for the printing of the original tests and the organization of the recording work.
