Features: This dictionary is a bilingual Chinese-English reference tool, primarilying commonly used linguistic terms. It also includes essential terms from various fields of social sciences and natural sciences, including common new technology vocabulary. On the other hand, while the dictionary focuses on modern everyday language, it also incorporates classical and written expressions, as they are the rich legacy of Chinese language accumulated over millennia. Based on the Chinese-English Dictionary (Revised Edition) published by FLTRP, which won the First-Class Lexicography Award and the 10th China Book Award, this dictionary has removed obscure and rarely used entries, resulting in a total of 53,000 entries, with over 10,000 newly added terms. The entries cover a wide range of disciplines, including politics, economics, law, biology, medicine, ecology, electronics, science, and technology. Each definition has been carefully refined to be concise and precise. To facilitate readers' searches, the compilers have annotated the subject fields and rhetorical usage of the terms, and all single-character entries are labeled with their part of speech. The addition of words and classified vocabulary starting with English letters highlights contemporary characteristics and reflects the laws of linguistic development.
