Is the child always sweating coldly because of a lack of intelligence?

Patient's question:

My child often sweats a lot. Is it a sign of a deficiency in Qi? If I need to supplement Qi, which medicine would be suitable for a child who is four and a half months old?

Doctor's answer:

It is normal for children to sweat, as it is related to the fact that their sweat glands are more developed and they are in a period of vigorous growth and development. Sweat secretion is controlled by the autonomic nervous system (vagus nerve). After falling asleep, the excitement of the vagus nerve leads to increased sweating, usually more on the head and face, but it typically subsides within one to two hours. This does not require treatment.
If sweating persists after falling asleep and is quite heavy, it could be due to calcium deficiency. It is best to check whether there is a calcium deficiency.
