After the mid-Qing Dynasty, redwood furniture gained popularity due to its superior qualities over other hardwoods, leading to its widespread importation for woodworking. As a result, high-end furniture from the Qianlong era onward is predominantly made of redwood.
Posheng Wood – Redwood: Redwood-made furniture is solid, dense, with a deep and elegant color, and features fine and beautiful patterns. Redwood is durable and easy to preserve, making it a common material for heirloom furniture. Only a redwood book box can match the noble status of the Thirteen Classics.
