Postmodern literature abroad

Features: Modernist music, like other modernist arts, remains orderly no matter how anti-traditional or revolutionary it is; it is simply a new kind of order relative to tradition. For example, Schoenberg's "twelve-tone" system and Messiaen's "limited transposition" system reflect the traditional major and minor tonal systems. Postmodern music, on the other hand, moves toward disorder, toward the process of behavior (as Derrida calls it "burning"), toward retro styles, toward the square, toward the secular, or toward virtual spaces.
