Therefore, cultivating innovative talents is a crucial task in current education. The development of creative talents in China has received widespread attention, and the cultivation of creative abilities and well-rounded personalities should start from a young age. Current educational experiments should first focus on making learning enjoyable for students. A positive emotional state can enhance students' sensitivity, improve memory, enrich imagination, stimulate active thinking, help overcome learning obstacles, and increase learning efficiency. To spark students' interest in learning and foster a love for learning, we must create an environment that supports the development of creativity. Tsinghua Affiliated Primary School teachers have continuously explored and created a lively, enjoyable, and harmonious environment in various subjects, thereby fostering students' independent and innovative abilities. "Developing Brain Potential and Developing Teaching Experiments and Research on Imaginative Thinking" was led by Mr. Wen Hanjiang, former President of Beijing Institute of Education and Vice President of Beijing Educational Society. It is a key project under the Beijing Philosophy and Social Sciences "Nineth Five-Year Plan." It is a continuation of the "Eighth Five-Year Plan" project "Teaching Experiments and Research on Developing Imaginative Thinking." The proposal for this project was based on the observation that previous teaching practices had overly emphasized the development of abstract thinking while neglecting the development of right brain potential and imaginative thinking, which hindered the formation of imagination and creativity. The significance of this project lies in addressing these shortcomings. Based on scientific theories of human brain cognitive functions, it explores how multi-disciplinary teaching experiments can achieve balanced development of both the left and right brains, promote the integration of abstract and imaginative thinking, and use the development of imaginative thinking as a breakthrough to enhance whole-brain function, foster innovative awareness, and cultivate creative abilities. This project aims to advance quality education and develop the talent needed for the 21st century.
