The arrangement of daily meals for infants and young children is a matter of great concern for every family. However, amidst abundant material supplies and a wide variety of food options, many young parents first think about how to ensure their children eat well, eat plenty, and eat satisfyingly. Yet, they often lack nutritional knowledge on how to ensure that children eat reasonably and meet their growth and development needs.
The infant and young child period is a critical time for growth and development. If a person suffers from malnutrition during infancy, the damage incurred in childhood cannot be fully reversed even with proper nourishment in adulthood. After birth, infants grow and develop rapidly, gaining weight quickly. At the same time, their digestive systems are still underdeveloped, requiring special dietary considerations. Therefore, this stage demands the selection of appropriate foods to provide sufficient nutrients. If the intake of nutrients does not meet the needs for growth and development, it can lead to malnutrition. Even mild malnutrition is sufficient to hinder the normal growth and development of infants and young children.
