Features: In the practice of reform, we have deeply recognized the important role of teaching materials in the teaching process. However, for a long time, the monopoly of a single medical education textbook across medical schools has failed to fully reflect the characteristics of each institution or the timely updates of teaching reforms and content. To address this, we invited experts and professors from Peking University Health Science Center (PUHSC) and several affiliated institutions to compile this series of long-term education textbooks. The compilation of this series of textbooks strives to align with talent development goals and teaching syllabi, embodying the standards of long-term education and exploring and attempting to break through the existing textbook framework. It reflects the transformation of educational concepts, the achievements and overall level of reforms in teaching content and methods at PUHSC, establishing a student-centered talent development model. This approach facilitates student learning and critical thinking, enhances clinical thinking skills, and fosters innovative awareness. It also meets the "bilingual" teaching requirements in the teaching process, incorporating vocabulary that students must master into the textbooks, and each textbook is accompanied by an English professional vocabulary read-only CD-ROM. This series of textbooks compiles the knowledge and teaching experience accumulated over the years by experts and professors from PUHSC and several affiliated institutions, and bold attempts have been made during the writing process.
