Features: In July 1996, at the "Centennial Celebration of Jin Yueling" held in Beijing, I obtained a copy of "Reminiscences of Jin Yueling and Reminiscences of Jin Yueling" published by Sichuan Education Press. Judging from the title, one can tell the book is divided into two parts. The second part consists of reminiscence essays, biographies, and chronicles written by others, while the first part, spanning ninety pages, is written by Jin Yueling himself. Jin Yueling was born in 1895 and passed away in 1984 at the age of ninety. These reminiscence essays were written intermittently between 1981 and 1983, when he was in his eighties and suffering from illness. He wrote a total of forty-nine essays, yet they only occupied ninety pages, averaging less than two pages per essay. However, they are highly detailed and vivid, depicting his major life experiences, social interactions, academic pursuits, intellectual evolution, personality, and unique hobbies. Reading them is truly enjoyable. In recent years, I had the idea of writing a reminiscence of Jin Yueling but never got around to it. After obtaining that book and reading his essays, it inspired me to finally pick up my pen.
