Is a 5-month-old baby's nipple red and swollen?

Patient's question:

Approximately 5 months, the nipples were swollen and red. So far, I have visited five hospitals, and almost all of them said it was nothing. I have used Kangfuxin liquid and Baidu Bao. The most recent hospital I visited was a traditional Chinese medicine research institute, where they said it was internal heat. They took blood from the baby and applied ointments. I have also taken Chinese medicine, but none of these treatments have been effective.
Previous Treatment and Effects: The previous hospitals said it was due to friction.
Kind of Help Needed: It has been too long, and I hope the doctor can help me understand what is going on and recommend a suitable ointment.

Doctor's answer:

10 babies have red and swollen nipples, none have been squeezed, and there is no pain sensation. The babies do not feel uncomfortable, which is normal. Parents do not need to worry. This is due to the mother's emotional changes interfering with the baby's nipples, causing them to appear red and swollen. It is recommended to wait a few days to see how it resolves. During this period, avoid touching the nipples to prevent fungal infections. Since the baby is so young, medication is not recommended. Instead, the baby can be given more water. When there is no urgent need, the mother can gently apply a towel to the baby to help stabilize the issue.
