History of the Church of England

Author: Bede
Publisher:
Publish Date: 1997-02-01
Features: This book primarily focuses on the preaching of the Roman Catholic Church in Britain, chronicling over a hundred years of history from Augustine's appointment to preach in Britain until the Roman Catholic Church successively achieved victories in various countries. The book consists of five volumes, as pointed out by the translator in the preface to the English edition, mainly divided according to major events in the church. The political history of the seven countries is described in simpler terms. As for the social conditions of this period, the author paid little attention, merely hinting at some information between the lines.
