Features: With China's entry into the WTO, international competition has become increasingly fierce. In reality, international competition is a competition of talent and education. To accelerate the cultivation of high-level technical talents with international competitiveness and speed up the pace of educational reform in China, the Ministry of Education has recently introduced a series of policies advocating universities to conduct bilingual teaching and introduce original textbooks. Taking this as an opportunity, China Machine Press plans to launch a series of foreign-reprinted textbooks in the near future, covering public foundational courses and specialized foundational and professional courses in the fields of machinery, electrical engineering, and information technology. By introducing outstanding original textbooks from abroad and promoting English teaching or bilingual education in schools with the necessary conditions, advanced teaching concepts and methods are also introduced. This will undoubtedly play a positive role in improving the quality of domestically compiled textbooks, strengthening students' practical English application skills, and enabling China's higher education to quickly align with international standards.
The book is divided into two parts. The first part is on kinematics of mechanisms, which mainly introduces the fundamentals of kinematics, graphical and analytical methods of mechanism synthesis, motion analysis of mechanisms, cam design, and gear and gear train design. The second part is on mechanics of machines, which mainly covers the fundamentals of dynamics, dynamic analysis, balancing, engine dynamics, and the dynamics of multi-cylinder engines and cams. Compared to similar textbooks abroad, this book has distinct features. It is based on algebraic and vector-matrix mathematical tools, emphasizes the application of computers in mechanism synthesis and analysis, and reflects the experience of recent reforms in undergraduate courses on the kinematics of mechanisms and mechanics of machines in American universities. It highlights the content of mechanism synthesis and design. The author aims to teach students the technical aspects of the design process, enabling them to develop the ability to address engineering problems in practical work in the future.
