Features: This workbook is a comparative calligraphy manual featuring various script styles, designed for beginners to reference and practice. The 2,000 commonly used characters included were selected from the 1,500-character list of common characters announced by the Ministry of Education of the Central People's Government in 1952, as well as frequently used single characters from newspapers, magazines, and periodicals. Due to space limitations, some commonly used characters will be included in the follow-up volume. This work is currently in progress and will be published in the near future. The workbook features calligraphy in regular script, clerical script, running script, cursive script, and seal script. To facilitate understanding the differences between traditional and simplified characters, a column of small regular script traditional characters is included for reference. The single characters selected in the workbook are arranged according to the number of strokes: those with fewer strokes come first, while those with more strokes follow. Characters with the same number of strokes are listed in order of stroke sequence.
