Features: To rescue and excavate the precious heritage of ancient Chinese medicine scattered overseas, the People's Medical Publishing House has published the "Overseas Returned Ancient Chinese Medical Classics Series," a project funded by the National Science and Technology Ministry's Basic Work Special Fund. The series includes carefully selected ancient medical classics with high academic and practical value, which were returned from abroad in the past six years. These books were collected from nearly 200 lost ancient Chinese medical classics returned from overseas by scholars from China and Japan, studied, compiled, punctuated, and annotated. This series contains 62 overseas-returned ancient Chinese medical classics. The writing dates of these ancient books are all over 300 years ago. Specifically, there are 5 from the Song Dynasty, 5 from the Yuan Dynasty, 43 from the Ming Dynasty, and 9 from the Qing Dynasty. The printing or copying dates include 1 from the Yuan Dynasty, 38 from the Ming Dynasty, and 23 from the Qing Dynasty. The series preserves the original content of the publications from the time of printing, reflecting the development and level of medicine at that time. Their return has brought back to the Chinese people ancient Chinese medical treasures that were lost in China for over 300 years, providing invaluable rare documents for understanding the development of traditional Chinese medicine at that time and exploring the context and patterns of its evolution. These documents hold extremely high value; at the same time, due to their practical content, they have been studied and compiled by modern scholars, reflecting the latest research achievements of contemporary authors, enhancing readability, and giving it a modern touch, making it highly valuable for academic research and practical application.
