Features: Excerpts: In this season, men and women, along with their cattle, work on the sparkling dew-covered fields. As we glide along the riverbank covered in grassy slopes, people often stride onto our raft to chat with us and the raftsmen, glide for about a hundred yards, and then leap ashore, continuing their journey with ease and vigor. Only the men come onto the raft; the women are too busy. They take on all kinds of labor on this continent. They dig and turn the soil, hoe and loosen the earth, sow and plant, and harvest and store. They carry heavy burdens that bend their backs, and push wheezing carts with their hands.
