Features: On the occasion of Professor Hong Wenda's 55th anniversary of teaching and 80th birthday celebration, we have compiled and published this collection titled Economic Globalization and China as a token of respect. For 55 years, the professor has nurtured countless students. As his 80th birthday coincides with this moment, his disciples from all over the world have contributed essays to honor him and compiled this book to express their gratitude. Truly, it is a gathering of outstanding scholars and a display of collective admiration for the master. All the articles in this collection are works of his disciples. They include theoretical explorations and reflections on current realities; the texts are in both Chinese and English, but all are newly written and have not been published before. This collection not only gathers the deep thoughts of his distinguished students but also focuses on the key concerns of the Chinese academic community today. Thus, it serves as an academic review of Professor Hong's research on world economy theory at Fudan University, and undoubtedly, it is the best testament to his 55 years of teaching and nurturing generations of students.
Since we began soliciting contributions for this collection in honor of Professor Hong's 80th birthday, we have received enthusiastic submissions from students across the country and abroad. To date, we have received dozens of essays. However, due to the limitations of book printing, we have only selected 36 of them for this volume. As a result, many outstanding works with both academic rigor and practical significance remain unselected. Here, we extend our sincere gratitude to all the contributors, as well as our deep apologies to those whose excellent essays were not included. We also kindly ask for your understanding and forgiveness in this regard.

Amid the tide of global economic integration, China has joined the world and is undergoing profound economic and social transformations through deepening its domestic market and maintaining sustained high-speed economic growth. Since the 1980s, institutional changes within Chinese society have raised many significant theoretical and practical issues for us scholars that require in-depth research and reflection. It goes without saying that at this major historical turning point for the Chinese nation, as his direct disciple, I believe that dedicating myself to theoretical exploration and academic thinking with utmost sincerity and dedication, striving for excellence and single-mindedness, and devoting myself wholeheartedly to the cause is the best way to repay my teacher's kindness.
In light of this, I hope this collection is not merely a theoretical report from his disciples to the master, nor just a display of the achievements of his outstanding students in theory, but rather a new starting point for the economists of Fudan University as they strive for even higher academic goals.
