This book is recommended for use in situations where projects are provided in a turnkey manner, such as processing or power equipment, factories or similar facilities, infrastructure projects, or other types of development projects. This approach (i) offers greater certainty regarding the final price and required project duration, and (ii) involves the contractor taking full responsibility for the design and implementation of the project, with minimal involvement from the employer. Typically, in turnkey projects, the contractor performs all design, procurement, and construction (EPC), delivers a fully equipped facility, and (the "turn the key") it is ready for operation.
