Features: This book is a remarkable work consisting of four volumes. In this book, Swift's narrative skills and satirical talents are fully reflected. The protagonist, Lemuel Gulliver, is an English surgeon who later becomes a captain. He is well-educated, proud of his country, and seems to have considerable insight in both his profession and politics. However, he is fundamentally an ordinary person, and Swift uses this limitation of the protagonist to achieve full satirical effect.
