How to treat poor concentration and sleep problems

Patient's question:

I get sleepy when reading, can't concentrate, have poor memory, stay up late at night, don't want to go to bed during the day, can't take a nap at noon, and hardly do any activities due to temperature issues. I'm from the inland, and I study in Xinjiang, so there's a big time difference. What should I do?

Doctor's answer:

Lack of activity can easily lead to fatigue and a lack of energy.
Suggestions:
1. Increase physical exercise appropriately – Engage in activities like running, brisk walking, gym workouts, badminton, aerobics, or cycling for 20-30 minutes during the day. These activities help release negative emotions and stabilize physical condition.
2. Pay attention to diet – Eat three meals a day, especially breakfast. Ensure a balanced combination of meat and vegetables for lunch and dinner. A purely vegetarian diet can lead to malnutrition and easily cause nervous exhaustion.
3. Maintain a regular sleep schedule – For example, take a nap around 10:30 PM and go to bed before 7:00 AM in the morning. The nap should not be shorter than one hour. Avoid napping at other times during the day. Of course, adjust the total daily sleep time to 7-9 hours based on the local sunrise and sunset times.
