Considering the potential career paths of examinees, a significant portion of the material in this book covers politics, economy, culture, education, social life, history, geography, and tourism in countries around the world (primarily English-speaking countries). In addition to the author, the revision of this course was also contributed to by Zhu Wuchen of the International Business Foreign Languages Department at Shanghai University of Foreign Trade and Yang Lijun of the Foreign Languages Department at Shanghai University of Finance and Economics. Zhou Zhen, Xu Ying, and Luo Shulan, master's students in "Foreign Linguistics and Applied Linguistics" at the English Department of the School of Foreign Languages at Shanghai Jiao Tong University, also participated in some of the work.
