Sui Emperor Yang Jian: In the Central Plains, the land was divided among warlords. After the Three Kingdoms and Western and Eastern Jin dynasties, the Central Plains split into two dynasties—Southern and Northern—with the South undergoing several changes. Until a hero with an extraordinary appearance seized the throne, unified the Central Plains, and conquered the North, this hero was Yang Jian, the founding emperor of the Sui Dynasty, known as Emperor Wen of Sui. However, the Sui Dynasty had not yet stabilized when turmoil erupted in the palace.
Chasing Li Yuan: Emperor Wen dreamed of an ominous sign and expelled all Li surnames from the empire. General Li Yuan, who was leading northern campaigns, was demoted to Taiyuan. After Emperor Wen's second son, Yang Guang, seized the crown prince's position, he grew resentful of Li Yuan for his beauty and sent men to ambush him in the mountains. In the nick of time, the hero Qin Qiong arrived.
