1. The History of the Guitar
The guitar is an ancient plucked string instrument with diverse types, shapes, and string counts. It has been popular in the West since the 13th century. By the 16th century, the Spanish guitar had already evolved into a solo instrument. In the 17th century, it gradually spread to other European courts, becoming a beloved pastime for noble youth. Early guitar string tunings were inconsistent, with various forms such as four-string fourths, five-string fourths, and five-string fifths appearing. It wasn't until the 18th century that the modern six-string guitar emerged, with a more rational tuning that greatly enhanced the instrument's musical expressiveness.
