Features: Series of "Rain and Wind Years." The renowned writer Xiao Jun had three wives in his life, and the author of this book, Wang Defen, was Xiao Jun's third wife. At the age of 18, Wang Defen left her warm family and spent 50 years accompanying Xiao Jun. From Lanzhou to Xi'an, a brief stay in Chengdu, then to Chongqing and on to Yan'an; passing through Zhangjiakou, Qiqihar, and returning to Harbin; traveling to Jiamusi, Fuyuerji, and finally settling in Shenyang before being sent to Fushun. After returning to Beijing, they made their home there. Over these half-century years of marriage, they faced storms and hardships! From political struggles; from economic difficulties; from spiritual trials; from illnesses; from natural disasters and human misfortunes—yet these overwhelming blows did not break the faith and will of this generation of revolutionary couple: "To seek the independence of the motherland, the liberation of the nation, the uplift of the people, and to establish and realize a social system where no one exploits or oppresses another!" They also did not abandon their responsibility to human society—nourishing and raising eight children with great hardship. This book authentically tells the story of their lives, hoping to bring readers some fresh interest in reading. More importantly, it wishes to provide some noteworthy clues for Xiao Jun's readers and researchers. The book is divided into five parts: "A Love in Hardship," "Embarking on the Journey," "In the Revolutionary Holy Land of Yan'an," "From Yan'an to the Northeast Liberated Area," and "Arriving at the Destination—Beijing," narrating the 50 years of wind and rain that Wang Defen and Xiao Jun shared together.
