Does a baby with a fever need to take anti-inflammatory medicine?

Patient's question:

These days, my boss said I'm not in good spirits, which has affected my work performance. Actually, I didn't mean to, either. I often can't sleep at night, and sometimes feel anxious and uncomfortable. If it gets worse, I'm worried it will affect my health and work. Regarding babies with fever, do they need to take anti-inflammatory medication?

Doctor's answer:

Your baby has been having recurrent fever, and I'm not sure if there are any other symptoms besides the fever. If it's convenient, it's still best to see a doctor to check at least the throat condition. Blood tests can be done to preliminarily determine whether it's a viral or bacterial infection. Generally, upper respiratory infections are mostly caused by viral infections, but if the course of the illness is prolonged, it often involves bacterial infection.
