What to eat when you have tonsillitis

Patient's question:

Recently, my tonsils got inflamed and the pain was unbearable. What should I do?
Past treatment history and effectiveness: I went to the hospital for a thorough examination, took medication, but it didn’t go away.
What kind of help I need: Not taking medicine, what can I eat to feel better?

Doctor's answer:

Acute tonsillitis: It is divided into simple and purulent types, caused by viruses and bacteria with varying levels of toxicity. These pathogens usually hide in the small crypts of the tonsils and take advantage when the body's resistance is lowered. When white blood cells in the tonsils fight against the pathogens, they turn into pus, resulting in purulent inflammation.
Eat more vegetables and fruits, but avoid a meat-based diet, especially fried chicken and fried fish, as these are considered "hot" foods. Children who consume them may easily suffer from digestive issues, which can lead to recurrent tonsillitis.
