Features: Peng Lianxi, originally from Hebei, was born in 1947. After graduating from Tianjin Nankai High School in 1966, he was admitted to the Tianjin Academy of Fine Arts but could not enroll due to the Cultural Revolution and embarked on a self-taught path. After joining the workforce in 1972, he worked in the textile system as a visual designer and actively participated in art activities and exhibitions organized by the Tianjin branch of the China Artists Association. In 1979, he was transferred to an art school to teach Chinese painting and joined the Tianjin branch of the China Artists Association the same year. From 1980 to 1982, he furthered his studies at the Chinese Painting Department of the Tianjin Academy of Fine Arts for two years. In 1982, his work "Cooling in Lotus Fragrance" was selected for the National Red Chamber Dream Painting Exhibition and published by Tianjin Yangliqing Printmaking Society as a special panoramic four-panel scroll. In 1987, he painted a large-scale mural "Han Xizai's Night Banquet" (5m × 24m) for the Shanghai Jing'an Hilton Hotel. Over the past decade, he has created and published various works of Chinese painting, New Year prints, and picture strips.
