Features: The selection in this book is compiled for the convenience of general readers, and the following points are considered in the translation and annotation:
1. [Original] As far as possible, the original style of the work is maintained. For various versions, the better ones are chosen.
2. Annotations are kept as simple as possible. Special usages of classical that have already been annotated at the beginning are generally not annotated again later.
3. During translation, efforts are made to accurately convey the intrinsic meaning of the text. Where direct translation is possible, it is preferred. When direct translation cannot fully express the meaning, free translation or the use of guiding words in parentheses is adopted.
4. For some fixed terms in the text, rigid translation is avoided, and the original names are used instead.
It should be noted that the Zhuangzi consists of 33 chapters, and this book selects only 18 of them. All the Inner Chapters are included, while the Miscellaneous Chapters are selected based on the needs of general readers for convenience of reading, basically reflecting the style of the original work.
