Features: The book "Queer Theory" is a collection of translations by the author. All the chapters were collected by the author during the gender issues seminar at the University of California in the United States in 1999. That seminar left a deep impression on the author. And this translation collection is a way for the author to remember that seminar. Since the 1990s, those who deviated from the norms in the fields of sexuality and gender in the West (such as gay men, bisexuals, cross-dressers, transsexuals, BDSM practitioners, etc.) began to call themselves "queer," and "queer theory" is the theory they created about themselves and their deviant behaviors. In my view, queers are diverse, and queer theory is complex, but at its core, it is simply one sentence: live freely. The author hopes this book will be like a free hurricane, blowing open the windows of the Chinese people's reserved, oppressed, and numb minds, enabling us to live and breathe freely from this day forward.
