Will Bell's palsy leave sequelae?

Patient's question:

My colleague has recently had facial paralysis for some unknown reason and is undergoing treatment. Do you think facial paralysis can leave behind sequelae?

Doctor's answer:

Because facial paralysis is divided into primary and secondary facial paralysis. If it is secondary facial paralysis, it may lead to some sequelae problems due to cranial diseases affecting the facial nerve palsy. If possible, the sequelae risk will generally not be too great after treatment if it is primary facial paralysis. However, if not paid attention to, it may again lead to a recurrence of the condition.
