Patient's question:
The child has been telling me about back pain, and I thought it was just because he was always playing around. But when I took him for a health check-up, I found out it's nephrotic syndrome in children. I'd like to ask what it's mainly like?Doctor's answer:
This disease involves various different variations, making it impossible to simply speculate whether it can heal on its own. The most common pathological type of pediatric nephritis is microinflammatory type, which is easily curable, and there are many main symptoms of pediatric nephrotic syndrome. (1) It often manifests as recurrent skin purpura on the limbs, even forming hemorrhagic vesicles that rupture and pus. (2) Gastrointestinal symptoms usually appear after skin problems, with abdominal symptoms accompanied by nausea, and severe cases may also present with hematuria. (3) Joint symptoms manifest as redness, swelling, and pain in the joints of the limbs, often migrating, which may subside within months but can recur repeatedly with low-grade fever.
