Patient's question:
How is erosive gastritis caused?Doctor's answer:
Hello, gastritis is primarily caused by Helicobacter pylori infection through the digestive tract. It is recommended to adopt the four-drug therapy for gastritis under the guidance of a local doctor. The most commonly used four-drug regimen is as follows: drug combination, dosage, and administration:(1) Potassium bismuth citrate 240mg + Amoxicillin 750mg + Metronidazole 400mg + Omeprazole 20mg
(2) Potassium bismuth citrate 240mg + Erythromycin 500mg + Metronidazole 400mg + Omeprazole 20mg
(3) Potassium bismuth citrate 240mg + Tetracycline 500mg + Metronidazole 400mg + Omeprazole 20mg
Take one of the above sets of drugs twice daily. Each medication should be taken in the doses listed, twice a day (once in the morning and once in the afternoon), for a course of 7–14 days.
After completing one course, continue taking potassium bismuth citrate alone for 6 weeks, with the same dosage and administration as before. Note: Amoxicillin requires a skin test.
This regimen can eliminate Helicobacter pylori and protect the gastric mucosa. Persist with the treatment to prevent recurrence. It is essential to avoid smoking, alcohol, coffee, spicy foods, and foods high in starch, such as potatoes, taro, vermicelli, rice noodles, sweet potatoes, and vermicelli.
