What are the reasons for embryonic arrest?

Patient's question:

I underwent tubal intervention surgery on January 10, 2008, which completely restored the patency of my right fallopian tube. A month later, on January 30, I had a normal menstrual period, and I became pregnant after sexual intercourse in mid-February. At 53 days of pregnancy, an ultrasound revealed a fetal pole but no obvious heartbeat. When I had another ultrasound at 72 days, there was still no heartbeat, and the fetal pole had grown very little. The diagnosis was fetal demise. I would like to ask what could have caused this. Did the tubal surgery have any impact? Additionally, for the past two years, I have experienced redness and swelling in my vaginal area, which tends to recur easily each month. During pre-pregnancy pre-natal care, one test showed positive for IgG anti-cytomegalovirus, indicating a past infection. I sometimes use anti-inflammatory medications, which can control the symptoms for about two months.

Doctor's answer:

Viral latent infection in the body is the cause of miscarriage, which cannot be cured with medication and can only be prevented by enhancing physical fitness.
